SYMPTOMS

Preparation for pregnancy

Even a year before your active fertility phase, it makes sense to find out whether you have all the nutrients you need and how you can optimally prepare your body for the upcoming pregnancy.

Difficulties with conception

Many couples face challenges in fulfilling their desire to have children, whether due to hormonal imbalances, endometriosis or other unclear factors.

Pregnancy complaints

Nausea, gestational diabetes, back pain and the right supply of nutrients are common complaints and concerns during this important phase.

Approach

Observations

Many couples feel that their gynaecologists and fertility clinics do not provide comprehensive care during the fertility planning period, as there is often a strong focus on standardized, one-dimensional treatment approaches. Individual health aspects, the supply of nutrients, nutrition, environmental factors and emotional and psychological stress are usually not taken into account.

Forms of therapy

A comprehensive consideration of the health of both partners, including hormonal, nutritional and emotional aspects, is essential for success on the way to the desired child and for a healthy pregnancy. We therefore distinguish between three important phases.

Phase 1 — Approximately one year before the active fertility phase, we assess your health status, analyze your nutrient supply, hormone status and cycle. Our team will give you recommendations on how to improve egg quality and advise you on your diet and lifestyle.

Phase 2 — If pregnancy does not occur within a reasonable time frame or you have had one or more miscarriages, we can provide you with further support before taking the step of going to a fertility center or accompanying treatment at a fertility center. We expand our diagnostics, identify the individual challenges and specific problems of each couple on a functional level and develop a personalized treatment plan. We are also very aware of the emotional challenges in this phase. We are by their side and help them to deal with them.

Phase 3 — Our support naturally continues even after you have achieved pregnancy. We help you to ensure that you and your baby are optimally supplied with all nutrients during pregnancy and breastfeeding, monitor your metabolism and pay attention to your emotional health (also, and especially, after the birth).
Every path to your dream child is unique, and every pregnancy is a special time. We support you with expertise and empathy to maximize your chances of a healthy pregnancy and birth.

GOOD TO KNOW

We look forward to welcoming you to our clinic. We take enough time to understand your medical history. Based on your previous findings, the completed medical history form and our diagnostics, we will create a customized treatment plan for you. Please note that you should come with an empty stomach (water is permitted) to enable us to make an accurate diagnosis.

We attach great importance to cost transparency and will inform you of the costs incurred before treatment begins. Please note that private health insurance policies are very unlikely to cover all services. In such cases, you will have to bear the costs yourself. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have about insurance cover, co-payments or payment options.

To make your appointment with us as convenient as possible, we offer you the option of simply arranging your consultation online. You can choose between appointments of 30 or 60 minutes, depending on your needs. Alternatively, you can also leave us a message by phone and we will get back to you immediately to arrange your appointment.

To ensure effective communication, we ask you to select an appointment option online. Be it for a face-to-face appointment in the practice, a video consultation or a telephone consultation. Alternatively, you can also leave us a telephone message.

Please understand that e‑mail inquiries cannot be answered due to time constraints.

Please note that repeat prescription orders will be processed with sufficient lead time (14 days). For prescription requests, please send an e‑mail to: rezepte@zentrum-funktionelle-medizin.de

We are aware of our responsibility and devote the utmost attention to your concerns. The path of functional medicine requires patience and it takes experience to develop solutions that enable health in depth. In doing so, we conduct research and talk to other specialists and therapists until we have found a solution.
