Long Covid & Chronic Fatigue

Comprehensive care and innovative therapeutic approaches for Long Covid, Post Vac and chronic fatigue.
We offer specialized treatments for patients with long-term effects of Covid-19, vaccinations and chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS). With a holistic, patient-centered approach, we improve quality of life and help restore health.

SYMPTOMS

Persistent tiredness and exhaustion

Many patients suffer from extreme fatigue that is not relieved by rest and severely impairs their everyday life.

Neurological symptoms

Difficulty concentrating, memory problems and „brain fog“ are common symptoms of long Covid and chronic fatigue.

Circulatory weakness

In postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS), there is a significant and sustained increase in heart rate when moving from lying to standing. Possible symptoms are dizziness, light-headedness and palpitations. Especially after standing up, but also at rest.

Approach

Observations

By and large, it is not uncommon to experience some persistent symptoms after recovering from a virus, medically known as „post-viral syndrome“. We have known this for a long time after EBV or influenza infections. However, Long Covid is very different from most other post-viral conditions because it is more than just the persistence of symptoms that started with the original infection. Now that Covid-19 is becoming endemic, it is imperative to address the specifics of Long Covid for effective prevention and treatment. The treatment of Long Covid and other late complications of Covid-19 (or the Covid-19 vaccine) cannot follow a formula due to the particular behavior of Covid-19; it must be individualized.

Forms of therapy

Long Covid is caused by various complex relationships: endothelitis (inflammation of the cells that line the blood vessels), microthromboses (tiny blood clots that can block the smallest blood vessels), activation of mast cells, monocyte polarization, mitochondrial dysfunction, autoantibodies, damage to T cells (immune system dysfunction), persistence of the virus or spike protein, microbial intestinal dysbiosis and other chronic persistent infections. To treat long Covid or post-vac syndrome, we develop an individualized multimodal therapy concept based on the patient’s findings, including prescription medication, infusion therapy, physical therapy, cell training with interval hypoxia-hyperoxia training (IHHT), micronutrients and secondary plant substances as well as low-dose naltrexone (LDN), for example. We always take into account the latest findings from evidence-based and functional medicine so that we can advise and treat you competently and in line with the latest scientific findings.
„Long Covid and Chronic Fatigue require an empathetic and individualized approach. We are here to help you on your road to recovery through innovative and holistic therapies.“

GOOD TO KNOW

We look forward to welcoming you to our clinic. We take enough time to understand your medical history. Based on your previous findings, the completed medical history form and our diagnostics, we will create a customized treatment plan for you. Please note that you should come with an empty stomach (water is permitted) to enable us to make an accurate diagnosis.

We attach great importance to cost transparency and will inform you of the costs incurred before treatment begins. Please note that private health insurance policies are very unlikely to cover all services. In such cases, you will have to bear the costs yourself. We will be happy to answer any questions you may have about insurance cover, co-payments or payment options.

To make your appointment with us as convenient as possible, we offer you the option of simply arranging your consultation online. You can choose between appointments of 30 or 60 minutes, depending on your needs. Alternatively, you can also leave us a message by phone and we will get back to you immediately to arrange your appointment.

To ensure effective communication, we ask you to select an appointment option online. Be it for a face-to-face appointment in the practice, a video consultation or a telephone consultation. Alternatively, you can also leave us a telephone message.

Please understand that e‑mail inquiries cannot be answered due to time constraints.

Please note that repeat prescription orders will be processed with sufficient lead time (14 days). For prescription requests, please send an e‑mail to: rezepte@zentrum-funktionelle-medizin.de

We are aware of our responsibility and devote the utmost attention to your concerns. The path of functional medicine requires patience and it takes experience to develop solutions that enable health in depth. In doing so, we conduct research and talk to other specialists and therapists until we have found a solution.
